Hello friends! Today I’m excited to share a super adorable project — a free Coffee Cup Amigurumi crochet pattern designed by Finolca Crochet! Throughout the pattern, you’ll find a few rounds worked in front loop only (FLO) and back loop only (BLO) to create the cup’s layered look. Don’t worry — it’s easy and clearly explained.

  • 4/Medium weight yarn in white, light brown , and dark brown

  • 3 mm crochet hook

  • 12 mm safety eyes

  • Polyfill stuffing

  • Tapestry needle

  • Scissors

Start with White Yarn

Rnd 1: 6 sc in a magic ring (MR) — 6
Rnd 2: inc × 6 — 12
Rnd 3: (sc, inc) × 6 — 18
Rnd 4: (2 sc, inc) × 6 — 24
Rnd 5: (3 sc, inc) × 6 — 30
Rnd 6: (4 sc, inc) × 6 — 36



Rnd 7: BLO sc in all sts — 36
Rnd 8–11: sc around — 36

Rnd 12: (5 sc, inc) × 6 — 42
Rnd 13–16: sc around — 42

Change to Light Brown Yarn

Rnd 17: FLO hdc in all 42 sts — 42

Continue in the BLO of Round 16
Rnd 18: BLO sc in all sts — 42
Rnd 19–21: sc around — 42

Rnd 22: FLO hdc in all 42 sts — 42



Change to White Yarn

Continue in the BLO of Round 21
Rnd 23–25: sc around — 42

Rnd 26: (5 sc, dec) × 6 — 36

Optional:
Cut two cardboard circles to insert at the bottom and top for support.




Place safety eyes between Rounds 20–21, about 5 stitches apart.



Change to Dark Brown Yarn

Rnd 27: FLO hdc in all 36 sts — 36

Continue in the BLO of Round 26
Rnd 28: sc around — 36
Rnd 29: (4 sc, dec) × 6 — 30
Rnd 30: (3 sc, dec) × 6 — 24
Rnd 31: sc around — 24

Rnd 32: FLO hdc in all 24 sts — 24

Continue in the BLO of Round 31
Rnd 33: sc around — 24
Rnd 34: (2 sc, dec) × 6 — 18
Rnd 35: BLO (sc, dec) × 6 — 12
Rnd 36: dec × 6 — 6

Fasten off and weave in the end.

Assembly

  • With white yarn, embroider a small oval “lid opening” on the top.

  • Embroider a simple smile between the eyes to finish your cute cup!
